Leading Child and Adolescent Mental Health Journals Achieve Impressive Impact Factors in 2023

We are pleased to announce the strong performance of our journals in the 2023 Journal Citation Indicator (JCI) and Journal Impact Factor (JIF) rankings. The Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry (JCPP) and Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) have achieved remarkable Impact Factors of 6.5 and 6.8 respectively.

The Journal Impact Factor is defined as citations to the journal in the current year to items in the previous two years divided by the count of scholarly items in those previous two years.

Prabha Choubina, ACAMH Publications Director said; “The focus of the ACAMH journals has always been quality and integrity of research and service to the community and the field. However, recognition in terms of Impact Factor is always a happy outcome! We extend our heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to our visionary Editors-in-Chief, expert editors, authors, reviewers, readers, and the publishing staff for their invaluable contributions to our mission.

While sharing the 2023 Impact Factors, we advocate for a holistic approach of considering a range of metrics to measure scholarly research impact. The Journal Citation Indicator (JCI), which provides a normalized measure of citation impact across disciplines, offers an additional perspective on journal performance.

We are also excited to announce that JCPP Advances has been accepted by Web of Science. The journal will be indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) and is expected to appear in the 2025 JCR release with a Journal Impact Factor.

These achievements reflect our commitment to advancing child and adolescent mental health research and practice. We remain dedicated to publishing high-quality, impactful research that contributes to improving the lives of young people worldwide.
